Kamejyu
×Dorayaki
Why you must eat itThe pancake is thick and pillowy. The uneven browning is proof each one is grilled by hand — that patchiness is the mark of the real thing. Two fillings, black bean and white (butter bean). Often sold out by early afternoon.
A wagashi shop founded in the Taisho era, facing the Kaminarimon gate. Counted with Usagiya and Sogetsu as one of Tokyo's three great dorayaki makers. The queue is permanent, running along Kaminarimon Street. They also sell seasonal fresh sweets and matsukaze.
