Why you must eat itA street sweet: leavened dough pressed on an oiled griddle around brown-sugar syrup and sunflower and pumpkin seeds. Fold a fresh one in half and molten sugar with toasted seeds spills out. Crisp outside, chewy within, you nibble from the edge to avoid the scalding syrup. It suits eating on the move under the night glow of DDP and Doosan Tower, and the colder the season the more tempting. Handed over standing in a small paper cup, it is a humble pause between rounds of the market.
A fixture of the evening carts along the pavements near DDP and Doosan Tower, often offering a choice of seed, red-bean or plain brown-sugar fillings. Most appear after dusk and run late, sometimes with a short queue.
