Kinotoya (Odori Park)
×Freshly Baked Cheese Tart
Why you must eat itKinotoya, a Sapporo confectioner, sells freshly baked cheese tarts by Odori Park. A crisp tart shell is filled with a smooth batter of Hokkaido cheese and baked, browned lightly only on top. Warm it runs; cooled it firms — two faces to enjoy. Best bought and bitten into on a park bench. The same shop pours a rich soft-serve of Hokkaido milk, and on a hot day the hand reaches for that.
Kinotoya is a confectioner founded in Sapporo in 1983, known for cheese tarts and soft-serve. Its Odori Park shop is a café facing the park where you can buy freshly baked tarts on the spot. The filling uses Hokkaido dairy. Besides eating in, boxed souvenirs are sold, easy to drop by between sights. It queues at times but turns over fast. A light plate eaten on a bench or inside.
