Why you must eat itThe birthplace of Katsuura tantanmen. The form — no sesame, just chili oil and onion — started here. Soy broth, red chili oil, onion and minced meat. It was born to warm the chilled bodies of divers and fishermen, and set beside Ishii you can see the lineage.
Founded 1954. Unable to get sesame paste, the owner made it with a soy broth, chili oil and onion — the origin of Katsuura tantanmen. In Shirai-kubo, open from around 11:30 until evening, closed Mondays. So popular it sometimes runs a numbered-ticket system.
