Sakura no Yumemiya
×Temari Dango (colourful skewered dumplings)
Why you must eat itColourful dumplings threaded on a stick like a temari ball — very photogenic. Cherry-blossom bean, matcha, mitarashi, zunda; the colours change with the season. Less about the taste than the time of buying it on the Kamakura approach, taking a photo, and eating it on the shop's bench. Chewy, and not as sweet as it looks.
A dango and sweets shop on Komachi-dori whose colourful temari dumplings are the signature. Spread by social media, it became a staple of Kamakura snacking — eaten, strictly, at the storefront. Colours and flavours rotate by season. As the street discourages walk-eating, it is built for eating out front.
